The dispensing and transport tanks from Duotank all work with an Inliner/Beerliner, an essential component that ensures the reliability and user-friendliness of the system.
An inliner is essentially a plastic bag placed inside a tank to hold beer. Duotank's inliners are made entirely of (L)LDPE and include an EVOH barrier. This material combination prevents oxygen from coming into contact with the beer, ensuring the freshness of the beer.
The inliner's connection is linked to the tank's outlet, forming an airtight seal when the tapping unit is inserted. This design guarantees that no oxygen can reach the beer, preserving its quality.
Before a tank is filled, the inliner is unpacked and its connection is disinfected with alcohol. It is then attached to the tank outlet and unrolled along its entire length so that the beer can flow smoothly and the inliner can unfold smoothly. After closing the manhole opening, air pressure (back pressure) is applied to the tank.
The tank can then typically be filled from a transport tank in a beer delivery truck. The constant flow of beer ensures that the inliner unrolls automatically without tearing. Once the tank is filled, it is connected to the tap, and the beer is ready to be served to the customers!
Inliners are designed for single use, meaning they need to be replaced with each new filling. Duotank places great emphasis on making this component more sustainable. The inliners are made of a single type of plastic and are fully recyclable.
Currently, used inliners are not recycled into new inliners. However, the recycled material is used in other plastic products, giving the inliners a second life.
